Party Time, Magical Forests & High Speed Down The Thames | 23 Months

Lots of great things happened in the month leading up to Little London’s second Birthday, which included his Birthday party.  Being a December born baby we decided to host his Birthday at the end of November so he didn’t miss out.

I always find the etiquette of a toddler’s Birthday a bit uncomfortable.  On the one hand they aren’t really old enough to understand Birthday’s as such, so they don’t tend to require much extravagance.

On the other hand it’s nice to do something special which puts your child at the centre of the things going on.

I’ve been to parties previously where the child’s party was compromised by the number of adults and it turned into a booze fest- which I think is quite unfair and something I didn’t want for my child.

So with that in mind I decided to book a small soft play cafe nearby to host a party for 10 babies and toddlers, and immediate family.

It meant we had the whole cafe to ourselves, and the parents of the children could relax and not worry about their kids for a few hours.  It also meant Little London got to enjoy one of his favourite activities and still remain the centre of attention.

It’s a balance that is personal to a parent and there’s no right or wrong way.  I just prefer it this way.  I think as long as he’s the centre of the day, and the day revolves around him then I’m happy 🙂

The rest of Little London’s 23rd month whizzed by in a haze of Christmas preparations and fun activities.  Some of which I managed to collate for his 23 month vlog.

Hope you enjoy, and don’t forget to subscribe to my You Tube channel 😉

    • Easiest recipe ever, but definitely only one for birthdays or celebrations because the calorie content is out of this world!! lol x

  1. These photos are too cute!!! Really love the cake – I can only dream of being able to make one that nice when I’m a mum! I agree, it’s unfair when the parents take over their child’s birthday and just see it as an excuse to have a party themselves! Great post 🙂

    • Trust me I’m no cake genius- this one didn’t look that hard to create which is why I went for it.. really wasn’t that bad to make at all! x

    • A couple of toys definitely helped out with getting the cake to look right lol. He’s obsessed with tractors and lorries so it had to be done 🙂

    • I was happy doing it that way. Don’t get me wrong I certainly enjoy going to the parties which are more tailored for adults, but I just didn’t want that for my child. 🙂

    • It’s such a cute jumper isn’t it? Gonna be airing it for Easter too I think lol x

  2. this is so cute. really loving the look of the cake.

    • My artistic talents hahah… I’m actually rubbish at anything creative so I’m quite proud that it turned out looking ok!

    • It was a fab day. It was definitely the right decision hosting his birthday before the xmas celebrations in december.
